A passion for hospitality development that began with our first property
Rimrock began developing hospitality after our CEO recognized the need and opportunity for a hotel in coveted downtown Whitefish, MT. Today, the Firebrand Hotel is the only hotel within the heart of downtown Whitefish and the only boutique hotel in the City of Whitefish.
Through this development and the similar need for hospitality nationwide, Rimrock has leveraged its knowledge and experience to continue the trend of hospitality development. However, high-end resort town boutique hotel development would not be a fit for our vision to create a duplicatable hospitality pipeline serving middle-class Americans. Our team spent time working with multiple select service brands and even acquired a Marriott franchise. After years of research and underwriting, Rimrock decided to commit to a partnership with multiple extended-stay brands and to focus our pipeline on this space. In 2019 Rimrock purchased multiple territories with Extended Stay America and started researching the My Place brand. We paused all our hospitality efforts in 2020 to observe how the pandemic would impact this segment. In 2021 Rimrock decided to re-launch our extended stay platform and are excited to be starting multiple projects for this pipeline.
Project Highlights
The Firebrand
The local community and the thousands of tourists that visit each year long-awaited a hotel in downtown Whitefish. We opened the Firebrand Hotel the summer of 2016. This 89-room high end boutique hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Whitefish. The charming and historic downtown shops, restaurants, and galleries are all walking distance from this property. The Firebrand Hotel takes its name from the iconic pass in Glacier National Park as well as the independent spirit that keeps Whitefish an extraordinary place.
My Place Hotels
Rimrockâs first hotel in the extended stay pipeline will be a My Place branded hotel located on an optimal site in Nampa, Idaho, one of the fastest growing cities in the Mountain West. The Project, currently in the construction phase, will be a four-story, 38,000 sqft building with 85 rooms opening in 2023. The site is adjacent to Ford Idaho Center, which encompasses multiple indoor and outdoor venues hosting over 250 events annually.
